The Keepers of the Current

The Keepers are Aquarian magical ecologists who study relationships between water, minerals, weather, living systems, magical flows, and long-term environmental change. They advise governments and frequently oppose industrial projects whose consequences are poorly understood.

They are not anti-technology or automatically anti-mining. A Keeper can approve a mine or refinery if convinced its effects are understood and contained. What enrages them is treating the world as though every local change remains local. Since Xanaras arrived, much of their work concerns altered coastlines, displaced species, magical distortions, and the ecological effects of consumed territory.
